I recently underwent a life changing procedure known as “Intacs, corneal inserts, or implants”. The surgery took approximately 30 minutes for both eyes with minimal pain and slight discomfort.
After researching the procedure for approximately a year, I decided to have my surgery at Cheery Creek Eye Center with Doctor Stuart Lewis. Being a Veteran I visited the Veterans hospital for a 2nd opinion and saw the top VA ophthalmologist who immediately recommended Dr. Lewis for the procedure.
My condition known as “Keratoconus” was debilitating, which adversely affected my daily life especially at work with daily eye irritation and vision… Continue reading
“Client painted her recollection of what she was seeing during surgery.”
I was diagnosed with keratoconus around age 11, and had been wearing glasses since age 7. My vision gradually got worse until around age 35 and then it stabilized somewhat. Even with glasses, my vision correction was less than ideal. I had tried k-rose contact lenses, rigid gas-permeable lenses, soft lenses, and hybrid lenses with rigid centers and a soft outer part. Nothing worked. My eyes were red and swollen after an hour of wearing the contacts. Years of frustration led me to start looking online at options. I was worried I would need a corneal transplant, but was frustrated… Continue reading
In 2011, at age 46, I finally decided I was sick of the limitations of my nearsightedness. I was not a Lasik candidate so I conducted exhaustive research into what other options I had. Dr Lewis was top of the class in terms of his reputation, knowledge, technical options, and above all, his demeanor. The time he took educating me was appreciated. Perhaps more importantly – determining the right measurements for new lenses is not a simple thing – and he was very methodical and never took this process or the procedure lightly. I knew he cared a lot about… Continue reading
Thank you for the 20-20 eyesight in both eyes (unaided)! As an artist I am profoundly grateful to Dr. Lewis and his experienced staff for the painless, miraculous surgery that so greatly improved my quality of life. Dr. Lewis has been performing eye surgeries for 31 years and has kept informed of all new progress in this profession. There was no pain with the cataract and astigmatism correction surgeries that I had in Feb and Mar of 2013! My qualms about someone operating on my eyes were diminished by the caring and knowledgeable staff–and, of course, Dr. Lewis. I will… Continue reading
Several times over the course of the past 7 years, I felt challenged by issues with my eye sight. With self-confidence, Dr. Lewis accurately diagnosed the problem and came up with solutions that worked. At age 61, following cataract and eye muscle surgery, I now have perfect vision with no glasses for distance or reading. The restoration of eye sight is truly a gift that can’t be beat! One must not overlook the excellent support Dr Lewis and his patients receive from his very professional and engaging staff.
The day before my LASIK surgery, my parents handed me a card with the inscription “Let the wonders begin.” Since my surgery, I can’t help but reflect on the truth of that statement: I now see the world in an entirely different manner. From the age of 8, I have relied significantly on corrective eye wear to perform daily tasks and simply function. I finally decided to take the plunge and get LASIK with Dr. Stuart Lewis and Cherry Creek Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and it has drastically improved my quality of life. The procedure took less than an hour,… Continue reading
“The real voyage of discovery consists of not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” New eyes indeed. I continually describe the procedure as miraculous. I have worn a correction since the age of 4. I was at the point that I could not do anything without my contacts in my eyes. I was a bit nervous about the cataract procedures. The staff both at the Cherry Creek office and at the Rose Surgery center were so helpful and reassuring. I would highly recommend Dr. Lewis and the procedure to anyone. Now (3 months post surgeries) I wake… Continue reading
Dr. Lewis, his office staff and the staff at Harvard Surgery Center Took great care of me. Surgery went extremely well. If I had to grade all of the above, I would definitely give them all an A Plus.
Cataract surgery following retina tear surgery one year ago. The new lens was designed to and did remove my life long astigmatism. Dr. Lewis did not over promise or minimize issues – he explained before surgery that while removal of the astigmatism was the goal it could not be guaranteed. But the goal was achieved. The surgery was brief and the recovery time quick. No pain killers were needed and I was back to normal activities within 24 hours. A life long astigmatism has been corrected and my sight has for the first time in my glasses wearing life been… Continue reading
